RIDE AT YOUR BEST
THE NEW KEO 2 MAX IS THE PRODUCT THAT WILL GIVE YOU THE CONFIDENCE YOU NEED TO GO BEYOND YOUR PERSONAL LIMITS.
The LOOK design team has completely remodelled the shape of the KEO 2 MAX, giving it a new, slimmed down line yet a wider contact surface, increasing its style and efficiency.
TECHNOLOGIES
OPTIMIZED CONTACT SURFACE
The pedal’s surface area has substantial symbolic importance. It is part of the brand’s identity and acts as an indelible signature on the product.
The contact surface of the new KEO 2 MAX preserves the strong lines on which its history was built. Its width has been increased to 60 mm to provide a larger platform and improved foot stability during pedalling. This creates a feeling of unrivalled comfort not found in any other pedal.
We also sought to optimize power transfer thanks to its new 500 mm² of usable surface (+25% increase). The shape of the stainless-steel plate has been revised to match that of the cleat and to keep, regardless of the position of your foot (depending upon the angular float you use), the same amount of contact for consistent performance.
Increasing the pedal’s usable contact surface, without any additional weight gain, improves the Power to Weight ratio, making the product even better and allowing you to perform at your best.
IMPROVED SPINDLE PROFILE
The spindle profile of the new KEO 2 MAX has also been optimized. Built around an oversized «Chromoly Plus» steel axle, it is composed of an axle with an inner ball bearing and a needle roller bearing, located under the contact surface, to handle the load and distribute it optimally.
A new component has been added between these two bearings. A serrated washer, previously used to hold the needle roller bearing in place, has been replaced with a conical spacer. This technical solution reduces friction, increases fluidity, and by consequence, decreases the geometrical tolerances of the pedal body and play.
The sole purpose of the sum of these improvements has been to guarantee you irreproachable reliability.

ONE-OF-A-KIND EXPERIENCE, BLADE TECHNOLOGY
The Blade body and blade are built from composite material. This substance makes the production of a range of less rigid blades possible – 08 to 12 -, for a cleat engagement and release feel that falls between a metal spring and a carbon blade pedal.
The Blade brings together all the benefits of a blade pedal: crisper in and out clipping, better foot support for more security, aerodynamic shape and low weight (compared to a conventional spring system). The platform contact area has been enlarged, providing excellent pedalling stability.
TECHNOLOGIES
BLADE TECHNOLOGY
Blade technology uses a blade instead of a conventional metal spring, which has many advantages for the user:
• Safe cleat entry/ release: the blade flexes, providing a firm hold once clipped-in, and when clipping-out, releases the foot faster at the end of the process in a quick and secure movement.
• An aerodynamic shape: thanks to the integration of the blade inside the body, pedals equipped with BLADE technology have the best aerodynamic shape ever created.
• Low weight: the design of the pedal around a blade system allows a significant reduction in weight and better load distribution.
SPINDLE: MORE STABILITY AND BETTER LOAD DISTRIBUTION
The Blade Carbon pedal spindle was designed to obtain a very low stack height: only 13mm. It uses a needle bearing cartridge installed in a central position for better stress resistance while pedalling and two spaced out ball bearings which distribute the load, providing increased rigidity between the body and the length of the spindle guaranteeing excellent rotational speed.
Axle play (related to internal bearing movement and part wear) is eliminated by a wave spring that constantly applies a pre-load that does not deteriorate over time. When pushing hard on the pedals, this system can completely eliminate the annoyances caused by any play (noise and sensation of friction).
LOOK axles are only approved after a rotational test of 2 million cycles at 100 rpm with a load of 90 kg on the centre of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (which creates stress on each revolution). This is equivalent to a sprint by André GREIPEL of 1700 watts at 100 rpm for 333 hours! This test is much more demanding than the current standard, the ISO 4210.
CONTACT SURFACE AREA: MAXIMUM POWER TRANSFER
To answer the desires of some of the most demanding cyclists, notably competitors, the pedal and cleat system must allow efficient power transfer through a broad and rigid contact surface.
Because of this, the Blade Carbon platform surface is covered with a 64mm wide, stainless steel plate that has been moulded into the body and optimizes, regardless of pedalling style, the over 400 mm² cleat/pedal contact area.

CERAMIC FASTER – LONGER
Every component, every ball is meticulously selected to ensure the highest level of quality and performance. The balls are precisely calibrated one by one by a machine, down to the micrometre. They are then ordered according to size in perfectly adapted rings, with the result that every bearing has a totally unique structure.
LONGER LIFE
A long lifespan is the main advantage of ceramic bearings. Rounder and harder than traditional balls, they are less sensitive to dust or deposits and guarantee consistent, durable performance. Furthermore, ceramic is not subject to corrosion. These physical properties ensure the bearings have a lifespan 4 to 6 times longer than standard steel bearings.
SMOOTHER
Reduced friction is the best-known and most characteristic advantage of ceramic bearings. The perfectly circular shape and the hardness of the balls combined with ceramic-specific, optimized greases allows for an 18% reduction of the frictional forces applied to the bearing.
SPINDLE
In order to meet the requirements of the most demanding cyclists, the BLADE CARBON pedals are designed to resist the very worst weather conditions. Particular care is given to each component within the axle to ensure optimal lifespan. The axle is guaranteed waterproof by IPX7 (full immersion) and IPX6 (rotating pedal exposed to water jets) tests. The design of the outer cap and the inside nut have been revised to meet these requirements.
BLADE TECHNOLOGY LIGHTER – AERODYNAMIC – SAFER
The use of a carbon blade instead of a conventional metal spring offers numerous advantages: The “blade – lever” system is 20% lighter than a standard “spring – lever” system. The carbon blade blends fluidly into the shape and volume of the pedal, improving the overall aerodynamic properties of the product. The BLADE technology revolutionizes the engagement/ disengagement experience whilst offering firm and secure support. The bowing of the blade when unclipping means the required disengagement torque is reached more rapidly in the dynamic of the movement, allowing for faster cleat release. Pedalling experience is also improved thanks to a firmer lateral stop. The carbon blade is available in various stiffness options: 12, 16 or 20. The blade can be easily, intuitively and quickly (a few seconds suffice) changed depending on the rider’ s clip-in / clip-out preferences.
THE BEST POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO
The full extent of the power a cyclist develops is transferred to the bike – and the road – through the pedals. Without going into extensive scientific detail, the larger the contact area, the more efficient the transfer of energy will be. On the other hand, the wider contact area, the more the weight of the pedal increases. LOOK engineers have worked tirelessly to pinpoint the areas where energy transfer is optimal, in order to finetune design and reduce any unnecessary surfaces. This careful analysis was key to producing a pedal with the best weight-to-contact area ratio on the market today.
Romain BARDET I AG2R LA MONDIALE
"The rigor and thoroughness with which I approach each day is equalled only by my passion for cycling. In my eyes, nothing should ever be left to chance and my choice of equipment reflects this obsession. I have been riding LOOK pedals for 19 years and in them, I have found an ideal partner; a subtle blend of technology and craftsmanship to accompany and support me in my wildest dreams - one more reason of to keep pushing beyond the limits."

The Kéo Classic 3 spindle is made up of an oversized steel axle with miniature ball bearings (12 mm inside x 18 mm outside) and a needle bearing cartridge for improved wear resistance. A spacer is used to hold the needle bearing cartridge in place.
A new method of fitting the spindle into the pedal body also ensures the prolonged reliability of our pedals. LOOK spindles are only approved after a rotational test of 2 million cycles at 100tr/min with a load of 90kg on the centre of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (creating a shock on each rotation).

SHARING A COMMON AMBITION
The EXAKT power meter is the result of a close collaboration between two leaders: LOOK and SRM.
SRM developed in 1986 the first power meter, then Democratized this technology by equipping the greatest champions and cyclists in search of true training precision.
LOOK invented in 1984 the first automatic pedal, revolutionizing the world of cycling. Continuing to evolve this technology in recent decades, LOOK pedals are a model of innovation and performance.
Imagine a totally integrated power meter, extremely accurate, reliable and ultra-light!
The EXAKT power meter changes the rules and redefines the limits to enter in a world of precision, control and constant progression.
POWERFUL - LIGHT - RELIABLE
The carbon pedal body ensures an incomparable lightness and stiffness. The contact surface is made with stainless steel material for optimum stability and power transfer.
The spindle, result of the most advanced development, receives all electronic components. It is assembled with an oversized ball bearing and a needle bearing to ensure a better load distribution.

FEEL THE NEW X-PERIENCE
LOOK constant desire to innovate and improve your product experience has resulted in a design that is dependable, durable and easy to use. Our new mountain-bike pedal was constructed around a heavy-duty mechanism, is resistant to the negative effects of coming into contact with various external factors (rocks, roots, mud…), and provides consistent and reliable performance over time. Its spindle, equipped with a double weather-resistant seal, has been improved to withstand even the worst conditions you may encounter during your rides. We have remained devoted to the principles that guide us daily. Fewer hassles mean more time to ride, and therefore, more fun.
TECHNOLOGY
THE BEST POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO
All the energy you produce is transferred to your MTB through your pedals. Their role, is therefore, crucial.
LOOK’s objective in this new undertaking was to find solutions that would enable the most efficient transfer of rider power possible. That is why LOOK has chosen to place the weight/contact surface ratio as the primary factor when defining the product.
Generally speaking, the greater the contact surface, the more efficiently energy is transferred. On the other hand, the greater the contact surface, the more the pedal will weigh.
The challenge faced by our engineers was therefore, to identify the zones that are useful for energy transmission and then optimize the pedal design in order to limit any that are unused. This task allowed LOOK to engineer a pedal with the best weight / contact surface ratio on the market.
LATERAL CONTACT SUPPORT
Lateral contact support guides your foot in finding your pedal and provides you a point of contact even if you have not yet engaged the cleat. This wide contact area prevents your foot from sliding on the pedal body and offers consistent and reassuring support.
MECHANISM GEOMETRY
The mechanism works regardless of external conditions (in the mud, forces are significantly different from those encountered when dry), more space allows for the shedding of various foreign matter (mud, sand…). These zones give the user a constant and stable feeling of being securely clipped in, in all conditions.
ADJUSTABLE TENSION
An adjustable tension screw allows you to fine-tune the entry/release resistance to your personal skill level.

For use with original, pre-Keo pedals, the LOOK Delta shape cleat functions by a rotational movement that allows release by the interior or exterior of the foot. The two sided exit improves safety. There is nothing to interfere with inside pedal release.
The fluoropolymer material eases entry and exit and diminishes considerably the possibility of cleat noise.
MANUFACTURER: Look
The standard Keo cleat has been developed with the goal of minimizing weight and to be a simplified cleat and pedal ensemble, while maintaining compatibility with all shoes on the market. The kinematics function is identical to the standard DELTA pedal. Cleat entry and release is secure and efficient.
The new Keo GRIP is an anti-slip cleat. It is safer for walking and compatible with the complete Keo line. The TPU inserts help keep the cleat in position on the sole side of the cleat and eliminate slip especially with carbon soled shoes, while LOOKs Position Memory technology allows easy cleat replacement by retaining the position of the previous cleat.
